From Supporters Gareth Mason I am sure that all involved with Newport rugby club, players and supporters alike have a great deal of respect for what you are doing which is trying to keep what I view as the greatest rugby club in the world where we belong. Newport are known throughout the world and with good reason, not only have we experienced great success over the last 130 years but it is a club with a soul. Being part of the Newport community is a real privilege. I started following the club before I could properly take it all in as my dad and my grampa took me along and then my brother in turn (my dad having supported Newport ever since a certain game back in 1963 - he had previously ventured to Cardiff before he saw the light). My first game that I can remember was back in the early 80's against Newbridge I think and it was a comfortable win. I was hooked. I have watched them ever since and love learning about the history of this great club and never ever tire of talking about Newport much to the annoyance of some. Probably my favourite player of all time is Dai Waters, a giant of a man and a lovely person who I have had the pleasure to meet though I think I was possibly a bit overawed. Of the current players it has to be Rod Snow who has stuck with Newport through some hard times and is another great club man. I hope we supporters can encourage the club to give us the opportunity to show him how much we appreciate his efforts. Favourite game - Probably Newport V Bath in our first European Cup home game. Say no more! Once a Black & Amber, always a Black & Amber.
