From Supporters Richie Jenkins Firstly, I wish the Trust Fund committee every success and may it grow bigger and bigger as the years go by. What the club means to me cannot be put in a few words but i will try and explain. It's a case of belonging, to be identified with, and you could not pick a better club to be indentified with. It's known thoughout the rugby world and is revered by all rugby nations as a Great club and to be associated with such a club is an honour, as a club that has been around over a century it shows the love of the club by rugby supporters and players alike. When I have travelled around the world and people ask me where I am from as soon as I say 'Newport' they say 'rugby' can you believe that? I have supported the club for 52 years now having watched my first game as a 10th birthday present on 26th April 1952 against Penarth, we won 9-0. To pick a favourite player over that period would be impossible, but if really pushed it would be Glyn Davage. The most memorable match is unanswerable over 52yrs!
