Token Collection - Update

Our thanks go out to the supporters of Newport RFC for their impressive efforts over the last few months in contributing to our token collection. The tokens are exchangeable by schools and sports clubs for computers, books and sports equipment.

The collection was such a success we intend running the scheme annually. We ended up with over 1500 computer tokens alone. Next season with more time, we hope to double the numbers collected.

The computer and book tokens were distributed recently to three schools who expressed an interest in receiving them. These were St.David Lewis RC Primary School, Always Junior School and Duffryn High School. These schools will also receive affiliate membership of the trust and we hope to see a good relationship between them and Newport RFC in the future.

Since distribution we have had further interest from schools in the area who will benefit from next years collection.

The trust is keen to encourage a new generation of players and supporters of rugby in Newport through community schemes such as the token collection.
