FoNR provide big cash boost to Newport RFC
On Thursday, representatives of the FoNR committee met with new Rodney Parade CEO Stuart Davies to discuss the past, present and future of Newport RFC and Friends of Newport Rugby. It was a very positive meeting which we are sure Stuart went away from very impressed with our efforts.
Fundraising, volunteers, marketing, team performance, commercial plans and many other things were covered and Stuart was open and honest in his dialogue with those present as we are sure he will be at the upcoming FoNR AGM.
The meeting concluded with Stuart, Newport RFC coach Craig Warlow and player Will Evans receiving a cheque for £15,120 from FoNR’s fundraising officer Mike Frost. This was the total sum of money raised predominantly through player sponsorships and match programme advertising this season. FoNR would like to take this opportunity to thank Kimberley Martin for all of her efforts this year whilst working as an intern for the WRU under the direction of FoNR and also all of the Newport RFC sponsors and supporters who have given so generously throughout the season.
