The Newport RFC end of season function will be held in the Bisley Suite on Saturday 11th May 2013 at 6:30 for 7PM.
We are delighted to say that former Newport RFC player, captain, coach and chairman Brian BJ Jones will be guest of honour and speaker at this event. Brian represented Newport, The Barbarians and Wales. He played over 300 games for Newport scoring over 100 tries. He was a member of the team that beat Australia in 1957 and also New Zealand on that famous day in 1963. Brain also beat South Africa while representing the Barbarians.
Video highlights of the season will be shown and reviewed whilst the following awards will be presented:
· April Player of the month award
· FoNR Community player of the year
· FoNR mascots player of the year
· Players player of the year award
· Coaches player of the season award
· Clubman of the year award
· Presentation of ties to those players who have represented the club on 20 or more occasions.
· Presentation of caps to those players who have represented the club on 100 or more occasions.
· Tommy Vile Player of the year award
