Double Mascots on Special Day

On Newports last home game for this season, two very young mascots came along to provide the inspiration. Former captain and popular hooker Andy Brown had sadly announced his retirement and it was fitting that for his last appearance at Rodney Parade, his son Evan could run out onto the park alongside him. Evan who is only five performed the task admirably.

The second mascot was four year old William Callaghan who gave a very enthusiastic display running out with skipper Gethin Robinson after being photographed with Premiership try scoring champion Eliot Frewen.

Both lads certainly contributed to the occasion as under bright sunshine, Newport romped in 74 points to a not too shabby 33 by opponents Camarthen Quins.
