Innovence hit the stage at Rodney Parade Afetr match entertainment at the Newport V Gael Force match will be provided by local band Innovence. The band, consisting of Caerleon Comprehensive School A Level students Morgan Evans (Drums), Owen Firminger (Guitar and vocals), Tom Jayne (Bass Guitar) and Jonathan May (Lead Guitar), have accumulated a sizeable following of supporters who regularly flock to their gigs in the village. They have played at The Angel, Boleros, The Hanbury Arms, The White Hart in Llangibby and The Handpost, St Julians, Riverside and Six Bells in Newport. They’ve also travelled across the Severn Bridge, with a foray into England and a highly successful session at the Old Plough in Bristol, but are probably best known for their Saturday night slot at The Goldcroft, which is regularly packed out for the boys’ performances. The band has compiled a wide ranging repertoire, performing high standard covers from artists such as Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, The Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, The Monkees, Chuck Berry, Kings of Leon, The Eagles and many more, whilst developing their own songs, which are by no means out of place in comparison with their more well known offerings. The lads have been looking forward to playing again at Newport Rugby Club for some time and very much hope you enjoy tonight’s performance! You can catch them again at the Dragons v Munster match and regularly on Saturday nights at the Goldcroft. Kev Jarvis |
