Win a 'balloon ride' in the FoNR Balloon Race At the Newport V The Rock game on Saturday 1st August, FoNR will be organising a fundraising Balloon Race. The prize kindly donated by Robert Price is a flight in their hot air balloon next year. Many thanks to Will Godfrey for this very generous prize. Tickets are £1 each and we hope to have some of the players not involved on Saturday helping us out with selling them. The idea is that you buy a balloon which is unique to you with a serial number and tag. This is then released and the one that is returned that has travelled the furthest wins the prize. The closing date for returns will be September 1st. There is a cash draw incentive for the tags to be returned. The last time we did this type of event, one of the balloons reached Montferrand in France. Please dig deep to support this fundraiser.
Update - September 14th The winner of the race was Mr L Parry of Newport. His balloon travelled all the way to Castleford in West Yorkshire. Mr Parry wins a ride in the Robert Price balloon whilst Mr C Woodcock of Castleford, who returned the ticket, gets £25. Kev Jarvis |
