Eveswell Back On Parade Since the formation of the Trust a few years ago, we have invited school parties from Newport, Lower Torfaen and Monmouthshire along to see Newport RFC play rugby in the Premiership. We also cater for mini, junior and youth teams who also have an opportunity to experience senior rugby with the compliments of Rodney Parade Ltd. We are always slightly surprised that more guests do not take up this opportunity. What is a given however is that we are never let down by the pupils of Eveswell Junior School on Chepstow Road, who make an appearance every season. They always come along and provide an enthusiastic Guard of Honour for the players as they take to the pitch before running across the hallowed turf to take their seats for the game. They were not dissapointed this weekend as they were treated to an amazing spectacle of rugby between two committed teams who both played some entertaining rugby. The experience was all the better for the home side winning in style. The Trust would like to thank Eveswell for their support and are pleased to see those red and white jerseys on show once again. If you are involved with any group of youngsters, whether in a sporting, educational or other capacity, we would like you to come along and see the black and ambers play. Nick Jackson.
