Lauren Up For The Cup It's always a little difficult organising a mascot for a cup fixture when notice is often quite short. On these occasions we rely on our stalwarts. This weekend, Lauren stepped back into the breach to lead out the team with captain Andy Coombs in what proved to be a bruising but successful encounter with the Drovers of Llandovery. Although Lauren has gone on record, naming Coombsy as her favourite player this season, she chose to have a picture with Rodney Parade hero, Mike Poole. It was great for Pooley to get some recognition for his efforts this season, scoring again on the day, to add to his impressive tally this season. Newport now progress to the quarter finals when another home draw would be great. We will however, be looking around for another mascot to inspire the team. Nick Jackson. Community Representative |
