Lewis Joins the Bench On a freezing and foggy Friday night, Lewis Ball ran out ahead of the Newport team with captain Andy Coombs, before a win over our fiercest rivals, Pontypool. After performing his duty, Lewis took a spot in the Newport dugout and sat alongside the rest of the bench during the match. There was some concern that in the gloom, he may have been instructed to strip off and take his place in the front row. Lewis plays as a hooker for his school, Talywain and Pontypool schools. As you can see the Pontypool link was strong on the day, but Newport were glad to have Lewis on their side as he helped to inspire a win.
