Conor and James Head Up Newport

The boys met hooker Andrew Brown before runningout infront of the crowd with captain Andrew Coombs. It was a tense moment as Newport were faced with an opportunity to head the Premier Table with a game in hand. Both boys did their bit in front of the largest crowd so far this season.

Unfortunately, the opposition team, Llanelli, were the stronger on the day and Newport came a few points short.

Historians will be interested to know that James is grandson to the late Glyn Davidge, a Newport legend, who amongst other things pulled on the black and amber to defeat the mighty All Blacks, forty five years ago practically to the day.
