Deserved award for FoNR volunteer Friends of Newport Rugby committee member Mike Dams has been selected for a special award by the WRU for his services to rugby. Mike who has been following Newport since the 1950’s is History officer for FoNR, historian for the ‘Black & Ambers’ and also helps out with volunteer work on match days such as selling programmes with his wife Anne and making the match announcements. Mike was presented with a Wales shirt signed by the 2008 Grand Slam squad at a special dinner held by the WRU in Cardiff. Everyone involved with FoNR and Newport RFC send their congratulations to Mike for this well deserved achievement. Kev Jarvis |
