Sponsorship for Newport RFC from Friends of Newport Rugby For the second season running the Friends of Newport Rugby Trust are delighted to announce that they have agreed to sponsor the Newport First team squad and officials. A further £2,000 has been used for training and after match leisure gear. Head coach Dai Rees and Team captain Rhys Shorney have both expressed their appreciation of FONR's continued sponsorship of Newport RFC. Dai Rees commented : On behalf of the players and management at Newport I would like to thank all committee and officials of the Newport Rugby Trust for their continued support, hard work and enthusiasm. The Semi-Pro level of the game is increasingly having to rely on the hard work of organisations such as the Trust to provide vital financial support. I feel very lucky and privileged that Newport RFC have such an enthusiastic and dedicated group of people working for the betterment of rugby football at Newport RFC. Long may it continue!
