FoNR to help Newport RFC stay healthy As the new season approaches Friends of Newport Rugby are delighted to announce that we are once again able to assist the team in their match preparation. A sum of £2000 has been used to provide nutritional foods for the players that they will be supplied with before each game. Additionally a professional sports masseur has been arranged to give the players the medical services that they need to maintain their peak performance and also to aid with recovery from injury. Speaking on behalf of the Newport RFC team and officials Steve Jones commented, ‘The supporters Trust has given excellent support to the team during the past few years. This recent initiative has been renewed in conjunction with the ‘Friends’ as it was of such big benefit during last season. We are very grateful to FoNR and the Newport supporters for getting behind the team and making such a generous donation.’ We encourage all supporters of Newport RFC and rugby in Newport to join FoNR and help keep rugby as the premier sport in the city.
