Consortium Update At the recent meeting between Friends of Newport Rugby and representatives of the board, it was confirmed that no further details of the plans of the proposed ‘takeover’ consortium have been communicated to the board. The board will continue to listen to any companies or individuals who wish to invest in Newport RFC, Rodney Parade or The Newport Gwent Dragons. Friends of Newport Rugby will continue to monitor the situation and liaise with the board over any firm plans but at this time there is no new information available. FoNR firmly believe that the best future prospects for Newport RFC and regional rugby in this area would be best served by further investment at Rodney Parade and full control of the region being administered by Newport RFC.
