FoNR Support Local School The Trust have agreed to help Caerleon as they attend a rugby competition in France. We have sponsored team pennants which are traditionally exchanged by both teams before kick off in all the tournament matches they will play. In return the team will display our logo on their jerseys. Once again the great name of Newport RFC is being represented in foreign fields. The pennants look great and we will be have one to display in the Rodney Parade club house. We have also been promised some photographs from the tour and will post these up when we recieve them. The boys left Newport on Wednesday afternoon heading for the Vendee in Western France and arrived safely yesterday afternoon The boys are enjoying the hospitality of local families who are putting them all up. The rugby starts today (18th May) with the preliminary rounds of the competition, and then tomorrow they play in the main tournament. After the tournament the boys will head for home on Sunday and should be back in Caerleon late Sunday night. Good luck Caerleon. Nick Jackson. Community Representative |
