FoNR part fund District Referee's Society playing jerseys At district level, qualified referees only receive minimal financial support to provide boots and the like. With the help of the Trust, our ref's will all be able to turn out in proper jerseys, without having to 'whistle' for them. The Trust have endorsed the jerseys which means that our name is 'flagged up' at all rugby matches officiated by a local referee. Hopefully this will encourage others to join the Trust to provide more support and financial assistance to Newport RFC and the community it serves. The Newport and District Referee's Society provide qualified officials to many youth and local league matches in the Newport area and sometimes provide touch judges at the bigger games. The society is always looking for new recruits. If you are interested, please contact the Trust who can put you in touch with the Society. They can arrange for the necessary qualifications to be applied for. The Trust are pleased to be associated with the NDRS and are proud to be encouraging more rugby in our local area.
