Glynn Davidge Following the sad news recently of the death of Newport great, Glyn Davidge, there will be a minutes silence before Saturdays game against Cardiff in tribute to the former Newport great. Supporters will also have the opportunity to honour Glyn's memory by making a donation to a fund nominated by his family. Glynn's family have expressed a wish for family flowers only with donations in Glynn's memory being given instead to a fund set up for Simon Henson. Simon is a 34 year old local man suffering from a disease/illness that is seriously affecting his quality of life. A campaign has been started to raise the £25,000 needed for a brain operation that the NHS will not fund. Simon used to play for Newport Saracens and Hartridge and the family feel that Glyn would have been only too pleased to help out a local rugby player. The Friends Of Newport Rugby Trust and Newport Rugby Official Supporters Club will be accepting donations of their respective tables at the game on Saturday. Kev Jarvis, F0NR Secretary |
