Overmonnow Primary School On 25th March 2006, the Trust invited pupils from Overmonnow Primary School in Monmouth to Rodney Parade to see Newport beat old rivals Cardiff in a Welsh Premiership fixture. The children provided a guard of honour for the players as they took to the pitch even thought the weather was pretty unpleasant. The family stand was well populated as parents and staff from Overmonnow also came along and together with the children gave enthusiatic and very vocal support for the Newport team.
