Bettws Junior RFC On Wednesday 3rd May, the FoNR Trust were pleased to host Bettws Junior RFC at Rodney Parade to see Newport register a win over Aberavon. The Bettws team gave plenty of encouragement to the Newport team as they finished warming up and there was much cheering, clapping and handshaking on the way into the changing room. Bettws then provided the traditional guard of honour for both Newport and Aberavon as they took to the park. They then received the appreciation of the crowd as they ran across the pitch to take their seats. The Trust would like to thank the Newport Forwards for the early try which was scored directly in front of the Bettws youngsters where they were sat in the family stand. Bettws have formed three age group playing squads only this season and are already registering a few wins. None of their players had played rugby before so we think you will agree that their coaches deserve some praise.
